Gråberget Champs 2012

Bild

Ban & Restriction update 120601

Bild
At the end of the 2011/2012 season the B&R list was revisited, and some changes were made. From 120601 the following updates are in effect: Mirror Universe is Restricted Shahrazad is Restricted  Fastbond is Legal (Since most of the blogs readers are Swedish, I don't bother to translate the discussions of the individual cards below.) N00bcon roundup

I was planing on writing up a more interesting post to round up n00bcon. But writing exams took to much time, and now I feel that I just want to get it done. So Ill make a quick post about the standings in the pimpwalker race. 33 participants with a modifier of 5 gave about 165 points to fight over, with an additional point to everybody who participated since the format was 93/94. n00bcon, the big finale and the beginning of something great. Part 1.

Bild
This last weekend we held n00bcon and it was bigger then my wildest fantasies could ever imagine. 34 people attended, almost twice the size of the proxy vintage tournament down at the main convention. More people found it more rewarding to play a format that does not allow proxies, that does not allow budget alternatives in revised, 4th edition, Italian legends etc then to play in a cheap format where you could proxy all the expensive parts of your deck. It makes me happy. Vintage to me share many similarities with 93/94 in that its mostly a social experience. I play vintage and 93/94 cause I can play with cards that I sought after and struggled to obtain when I started playing magic around 17 years ago. I play with people that whatever the prize they still play in a very casual manner. Yes, vintage does broken things, but the people playing vintage are amongst the most laid back people I know. Just like the 93/94 community are and should be. 93/94 are mainly a format that allow adul...

n00bcon Warm Up! the conclusion!

Bild
n00bcon warmup was held yesterday so at least the people from Gothenburg (and loff ofc) could get some training in before our world champion ship tournament on n00bcon this easter. 12 people showed up, so we played 4 rounds swiss with a cut off to top 4 battling for a Chaos Orb as our first price, and 200 SEK store credit as second price. In the first round, everybody was eager. The shoot on the Chaos Orb and eternal glory and honor where still in everybody's grasp. Her you can see Loff r/g beats battle against Onefunsite's version of the deck. And some more pictures of onefunsite's hand.  Cop: Red after sideboard, ouch. here you can see our winner slowly grinding out his wins against the field. Think I heard some mumblings about 6th edition being the worst rule change ever, cant even turn of your artifacts anymore... Why didn't they give an errata to Winter Orb, like they did to Howling Mine. In the current field of 12, we had 4 who opted to play Mono black of s...
